This giant transformer was constructed entirely from industrial waste material. Artist Jelle de Graaf is a modern scavenger, who gives discarded scraps of metal and parts a new lease on life in monumental sculptures. These creatures are inspired by the robots from science fiction films and television series. It’s a dream come true: our childhood toys coming to life to offer an escape from our capitalist day-to-day reality.

By entering the transformer, we go through a transformation ourselves. For a brief while, we see the world through the eyes of a metal supreme being and gain superhuman powers.
